Arts & Crafts Style Furniture.

Arts & Crafts Style furniture is characterized by clean lines, natural beauty, elaborate construction details and a high degree of craftsmanship. Our furniture is made at our studio in the Highlands, which is North of the beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia. Each piece of furniture is lovingly created by David Lees, an English Master Craftsman, and designed to endure the test of time. Arts & Crafts Style furniture offers a timeless design that will blend seamlessly with any décor. We have an extensive selection of fine furniture for the living room, dining room, bedroom or office. Quarter sawn white oak is used in the construction of our Arts & Crafts Style furniture and is used due to its beauty, unique markings, strength and stability. However, we are more than happy to create our furniture from other timbers if required by our customers. We have a choice of 3 different colour stains you can chose for the finish of our fine furniture, please see our finishes & options page for more details. Apart from the selection of furniture you will find on this web site we can also custom make furniture to most designs. In fact many of the pieces you will find within this site were originally commissioned by a customer. Although our furniture has been heavily influenced by many Arts & Crafts Style designs and follows the movements philosophy, we do not consider our furniture to be reproduction and none of our products are mass produced. Instead David's craftsmanship and creativity ensures we are making an original Crestwood Design piece of fine furniture for our customers. With their sturdy construction, natural beauty and timeless design, our collection of fine furniture will enhance any interior and will be cherished for generations.

'In fifty or a hundred years good oak furniture will be worth many times its first cost...for the time is coming when it will be valuable on account of its permanent worth, solid construction, and scarcity.'

                                           Gustav Stickley.

Traditional Quality & Craftsmanship.

Each piece of furniture we create is as perfectly finished on the inside as it is on the outside, no corners are cut where quality is concerned. Only solid 7/8" thick boards are used in the creation of our furniture. With our furniture you don't have to hide the backs against a wall so they aren't seen. Instead you can proudly display our furniture so it can been seen from any angle, that is true craftsmanship.  We believe our customers deserve this type of attention to detail and will appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of Crestwood Design's fine furniture. All our furniture is finished using professional and environmentally friendly products that produce a finish that highlights the natural beauty of the wood and results in a very durable piece of furniture. Traditional techniques are employed in the construction of our furniture, such as true dove tail joints, mortise & tenon, and peg joinery. These traditional techniques are an integral element of Arts & Crafts Style furniture and demand a high degree of craftsmanship. Such craftsmanship and attention to detail is rarely seen in today’s mass produced products. At Crestwood Design, we believe if something is worth doing it is worth doing right!
